Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the conclusion of the seventh season the show was canceled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was a speech and family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish, and she has said that she participates in Passover seders.
