Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4th, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress, comedian, and writer. O'Hara has won numerous distinctions, including a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was made an Officer of Canada. In the year 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara was a renowned actor when she joined in 1974 of The Second City, an Improvisational comedy troupe based out of Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received praise for her comic acting and writing skills, earning her an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
